Cultural Diversity in Europe
"Culture" refers to the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group and encompasses in addition to art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs. (§4 of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions)
Europe is characterized by its richness in languages, traditions, and traditions — by its cultural diversity.
The European Union's motto "unity in diversity" captures the spirit of Cultural Diversity in Europe very well. It is about a unity of political and moral values built out of and because of cultural diversity.
